Who doesn't love a good Crunchwrap Supreme? With a crispy tortilla, melty cheese, and flavorful fillings, this fast food favorite is easy to make at home - that's where this Copycat Chicken Crunchwrap Supreme recipe comes in!

Take the classic Crunchwrap and give it a homemade twist, right on your Blackstone griddle. You’ll combine juicy grilled chicken and onions, fresh tomatoes, and a sprinkle of cheese, wrap it all up in a large tortilla and grill it to perfection. It's the ultimate comfort food, elevated at home.

Plus, we'll make it one step easier by skipping making a cheese sauce. Try a homemade cheese sauce or your favorite store-bought cheese sauce instead of shredded cheese if you prefer it that way and have the time.

Looking for a breakfast twist? Try swapping out the chicken for crispy tater tots, scrambled eggs, and re fried beans. The breakfast crunchwrap is a breakfast burrito dream come true!

Ingredients

See the recipe card for exact amounts.

Ingredients for a crunch wrap labeled, chips, onion, cheese, salsa, chicken, tomato, sour cream, fajita seasoning, lime, tortilla.
  • soft tortilla: to make 4 crunchwraps you'll need 5 large flour tortillas. 4 will be wraps and the 5th one is cut into quarters to help seal the wraps.
  • tortilla chips: a tostada (crunchy fried corn tortilla) is typical in a crunchwrap supreme but for this recipe, we'll use Doritos or any other taco chip you have! Kids love this addition.
  • chicken: I season with the chicken with fajita seasoning, but you can use another seasoning or try taco seasoning.
  • fillings: tomato, onion, sour cream, salsa, cheese to fill the wrap. Use your favorite toppings like shredded lettuce, bell peppers, or sliced olives.

Substitutions

  • chicken: try another protein like ground beef or grilled shrimp or make it vegetarian with black beans.

No griddle? Make this on the stove top using a frying pan to cook the chicken and then wipe it out and use it again to crisp up the tortillas.

Prep Tips

  • Preheat the Blackstone griddle to medium-high heat.
  • Prep all of the fillings, slice the onion and chicken. Cut one tortilla into quarters.

The cooking for this recipe only takes about 15-20 minutes and is divided. The chicken and onions take about 10 minutes. If you have the fillings prepared before hand, then filling the wraps and crisping them up goes really quickly.

Tips for making crunchwraps on a Blackstone

  • Making crunchwraps on a Blackstone makes it easy to make a whole bunch at once. If you don't have a large Blackstone griddle, you can cook the chicken and onions in a frying pan and then crisp up the wraps in another frying pan.
  • Make sure to preheat your grill to about medium high heat before adding the onions and chicken.
  • Using tools when cooking on a Blackstone grill makes some methods easier. I like to use a water bottle and dome for steaming ingredients. When the onions have some color on them, squirt them with water and cover them with a dome to steam them. This helps lift flavor off the grill and soften the onions, helping them cook faster.

What to serve with chicken crunchwraps

Crunchwraps have a lot of fillings and can be good on their own with sour cream and salsa for dipping. To make it a more filling meal, try serving them with roasted lemon potatoes, garlic Parmesan fries, southwest corn salad, or Spanish style cauliflower rice.

Want breakfast? Try a breakfast crunchwrap with scrambled eggs and tater tots.

Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 2 large chicken breasts cubed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 4 teaspoons fajita seasoning
  • ½ red onion sliced

Fajita Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground oregano or 1 ½ teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

For the Wraps

  • 5 large flour tortillas
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup salsa
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 12 cherry tomatoes
  • Doritos or other tortilla chips, or 4 tostadas

Instructions

  • Cut one large tortilla into quarters and then set aside with the other 4 large whole tortillas.

Cook the chicken and onion

  • Preheat the Blackstone griddle to medium high heat.
  • Add a drizzle of oil and then the onions. Let cook for 4-5 minutes.
  • Stir the onions, squirt with water, and cover with the cooking dome.
  • Add a drizzle of chicken to the griddle and then add the chicken. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, flipping once. Remove the onions and chicken from the griddle and leave it on medium heat. (Or, alternatively turn it off and then turn it back on if you think assembly of the crunchwraps will take longer.)

Assemble the wrap

  • Spread 2 tablespoons of sour cream in the center of the wrap followed by 2 tablespoons of salsa.
  • Add cheese, chicken, onions, tomato, Doritos, and then more cheese.
  • Add one of the tortilla quarters on top of all the fillings.

Fold the crunchwrap

  • Pretending that there are 6 'sides' to the round tortilla, you will make six fold into the center. Start with the bottom and fold one side in and over the quartered tortilla. Repeat 5 more times until the whole wrap is sealed. Turn it over to keep it sealed until you cook it.

Crisp the crunchwraps

  • Add the crunchwraps seam-side down to the hot griddle. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned and crispy. Serve hot.

Equipment

  • Blackstone Griddle
