A granola yogurt bowl is made by combining yogurt, granola, and fruit. This version includes Greek yogurt, homemade gingerbread granola, and warm cinnamon apples for a cozy breakfast that takes about ten minutes to make.

A granola yogurt bowl is one of the easiest breakfast ideas to put together and it’s really customizable depending on what you have on hand.
This version uses my homemade Gingerbread Granola and warm cinnamon apples, plus a spoonful of almond butter for extra flavor and healthy fats. Everything works together for a cozy, fall and winter-inspired breakfast that still takes about ten minutes to make.
If you’ve never made a yogurt bowl before, the basic formula is simple.
Start with yogurt, add granola for crunch, and finish with fresh or warmed fruit and a topping like nut butter, seeds, or a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
Once you know the basic idea, you can mix and match flavors depending on the season.
Ingredients
See the recipe card for exact amounts.

- Greek yogurt: Use plain, vanilla, or dairy-free yogurt depending on what you like. I use plain Greek yogurt for thickness and more protein.
- Granola: I use my homemade Gingerbread Granola for warm spice and crunch. Store-bought granola works too. My maple cinnamon granola recipe would also work in this yogurt bowl.
- Almond butter: Just a spoonful gives the bowl more richness. Peanut butter or cashew butter work too.
- Apple cinnamon topping: Diced apple cooked with cinnamon, maple syrup, coconut oil, lemon, and a pinch of salt. This adds warmth, sweetness, and makes everything feel extra festive.
Substitutions
- Swap the apples for pears or fresh bananas.
- Add chia seeds or hemp hearts for extra nutrients.
- Stir a little maple syrup into the yogurt for more sweetness.
- Use coconut yogurt if you need a dairy-free option.

Instructions
How to Make the Warm Apples
- Heat a small pan over medium heat and melt the coconut oil.
- Add the diced apple, cinnamon, maple syrup, salt, and a splash of lemon juice.
- Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the apples soften but still hold their shape.
- Set aside to cool slightly before adding to the yogurt so it doesn’t melt everything.
Assemble the Bowl
- Add the yogurt to a bowl.
- Spoon the warm cinnamon apples over the yogurt.
- Add the granola.
- Top with almond butter and serve.

Tips for Making a Granola Yogurt Bowl
- Don’t add the granola to the yogurt until the apples are done and you’re ready to serve. Granola softens if it sits too long, especially with warm toppings.
- Adjust sweetness to taste. Greek yogurt can be tangy. If you prefer a sweeter bowl, stir a little maple syrup, honey, or almond butter into the yogurt before assembling.
- Customize your toppings. Switch the almond butter with peanut butter, sunflower seed butter, or tahini. Add chia seeds, hemp hearts, fresh fruit, or toasted nuts if you want more flavor or texture.

FAQs

Yes. If you prefer something quicker or lighter, skip the cooked apples and use fresh sliced apples with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Absolutely. Pears, bananas, berries, chia seeds, hemp hearts, pecans, or a drizzle of honey or maple syrup all work.
