Bring the vegetable broth to a boil and then stir in all of the spices to mix well.
In a 9x 13 casserole dish, add the chickpeas, broccoli, and rice.
Add the hot liquid, pouring carefully. Make sure everything is submerged.
Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Serve.

Make sure to bring the broth to a boil, use foil, and stick to the ratio of liquid to rice.To add cheese, remove the foil at the end of the cooking time, sprinkle cheese evenly, and return the casserole to the oven to bake for 8-10 minutes or broil for 3-4 minutes (my preference).Serve 4-6 as a side. If serving for dinner, serve with buttered bread for a more filling meal.
