Eggnog French Toast
Thick slices of bread are dipped into a rich eggnog custard, cooked until golden brown, and then topped with fluffy whipped cream, maple syrup, and an extra dash of nutmeg. The perfect brunch recipe for the holidays.

- a sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg optional
In a wide shallow dish, mix together the eggs, eggnog, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and nutmeg. Whisk well.
Dip each slice of bread in the egg mixture and then fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
Serve as is or drizzle on syrup, add whipped cream and an extra sprinkle of nutmeg and cinnamon.
Notes – The more custard the bread soaks up, the softer your french toast will be. If you want it drier and crispier don't let the bread soak up that much. For soft french toast, let the bread soak up more. The amount of custard you'll need will depend on this, so you may need to make more custard!
Substitutions – Use your favorite bread, just make sure it's dried out a bit.
