Make sure to get pumpkin puree and not pumpkin pie filling. They are sold side by side in grocery stores.

Mix the dry ingredients together in a large bowl and grate the cold butter in.

Step 1

Use your hands to cover the butter in the flour.

Step 2

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix together.

Step 3

Move the dough to a lightly floured surface and pat into a disc.

Step 4

I use my hand to measure 8 inches from thumb to pinky finger.

Step 5

Cut into 8 scones. I use a bench scraper. Bake for 14 minutes.

Step 6

Make a glaze with powdered sugar, cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice, and maple syrup or cream.
