Homemade Cashew Butter | Quick and easy homemade condiment made with just cashews. Great on toast, stirred into oatmeal or by the spoon for a snack.
Homemade cashew butter is one of my favorite nut butters. I make peanut butter and almond butter too, but cashews are probably my favorite nut. The other recipes are linked above and at the bottom of this post so you can try those ones if you like.
Making homemade nut butter is really easy too if you have the right equipment:
- a food processor or
- a high powered blender
Just process or blend the cashews until you have a creamy butter. It can take about 10-15 minutes so I recommend giving your appliance a break every few minutes and scraping down the sides.
How to Make Homemade Cashew Butter
Add the cashews (or any other nut) to the bowl of a food processor.
Blend for about 10 to 15 minutes, depending on your machine. Mine is a bit older but still does the job. Make sure to keep stopping the machine and scraping down the sides every few minutes. This will give your machine a nice break and reincorporate all the cashews that have slide up the side of the bowl.
Blend until you get a smooth creamy butter.
