Homemade spice mixes are one of my favorite kitchen hacks.

Spice blends are easy to make, can be customized very easily and are more inexpensive than buying a mix, especially if you have a well stocked pantry.

This apple pie spice blend recipe is definitely one of my favorite homemade spice mixes, right up there with my Pumpkin Pie Spice mix.

You can use this spice mix in a variety of fall inspired recipes, including apple pie of course, pancake & waffle mixes, cookies, oatmeal, and overnight oats.

One of my favorite ways to use this spice blend is on toast. Spread a slice of toasted sourdough bread with peanut butter, sprinkle apple pie spice mix on top and then add a sliced banana and hemp hearts. Try it out!

Quick Tip: I use mini mason jars for my spice mixes. I label them with a Sharpie Pen and Washi Tape. Washi Tape removes very easily.

    Variations

You can leave out or adjust the amounts of any spices according to your preferences. If you prefer baking without cardamom, simply leave it out.

    Storage

Store this spice mix in a sealed container. Homemade spice mixes keep for about 6 months stored in a pantry.
